Introducing Sarah Paige Allen

We welcomed our newest Grand-daughter, Sarah Paige Allen into the family on Wednesday, April 27th at 10:30 a.m.  She weighed 9 pounds & 4 ounces.  She arrived 1 hour before I had to leave to go to the airport for a trip to Pennsylvania.  She was delivered by Cesarean section.  Although very sore, Leslie did great.  She had a problem with her blood sugar, and was in the hospital for nearly 3 weeks after birth.  Paiges' pancreas started to work before she was born, (and before it was supposed to) due to Leslie not being put on insulin during her pregnancy for her diabetes.    She got to come home from the hospital and at one month, is doing great.  Her low blood sugars seem to be okay.
She is so precious little girl and so sweet.   Here is some pictures just after her birth.

Our Kitchen Renovation

We kicked off our preparations for getting the house ready to sell.  The first was the kitchen, Vernon put in our back splash quite a while ago, and then the task of choosing a paint color was unending.  One day I went to Home Depot and just picked a color, came home and painted part of the wall between the cabinets & counter top.  I decided I needed a lighter color, so went back and bought another gallon a couple shades lighter.  Came home & painted next to the first test.  I went with the first one, (darker).  Not to worry, I will be using the other gallon of the lighter one in another room.  We bought a cabinet restoration kit, cabinet hardware, etc.  Vernon put in all new switches & electrical outlets, and covers, we put in a new ceiling fan, which goes with the new light we put in a while back.  I sealed the back splash and the slate came to life, it looks so awesome.  I need to find some sealer for our granite sink, as it is dull.  Still have a way to go on this first room restoration.  At this rate, we will probably be able to get the house up for sale, just before we have to go to a rest home.  LOL   The appliances are stainless & black, I will accent in red & black as well.  Haven't found anything I really like yet for accents.  It is time to get rid of all of my pre-Texas decor, which is now over 25 years old - Yikes, I am a creature of habit.

Tell me what you think about the colors!

Weekend with David

We had David for the weekend. We got him on Friday night. He was such a sweetheart all weekend. Mason was at his other Nana & Papa's house for spring break. We had a good time being with him. Every morning, he would wake up with a cheerful "Good Morning". He is such a sweet loving little boy, I don't ever want him to change.

Reading the last edition of
"Cycle World" before bed, just
like Papa.  TOO FUNNY!!!!

Brooke Cycle

This is Brookes favorite part of the dishes.  She is the pre-scrub cycle part of the dishwasher.  Most of the time she does a better job than the dishwasher :( which is really getting on my nerves.  Yesterday I had to run the same load twice to get it cleaned, which was on the heavy wash cycle.  I think it is only like 4 years old.  Says alot about Maytag right.

Friends Valentines Celebration

Thanks to our guys, my friends Ginger, Debbie & I had a special Valentines Day celebration.  They sent us out for manicures & pedicures after Church, and then they prepared a special dinner for us at Chuck & Debbies house.  We started out with appretizers, bacon wrapped stuffed dates, and toasted baggettes with pesto.  It was so awesome, then they prepared grilled steak, chicken & salmon, with grilled vegetables, bread.  Don made a banana cream pie, and Debbie had made chocolate pudding.  Everything was so wonderful.  The guys also made homemade valentines as their testaments of love to us.  They were all so creative.  They are the best, thank you Vernon, Don & Chuck for making such a special day for us.  You do know this is going to have to be an annual thing right?

So Sorry This Is So Late

I can't believe it has almost been a year since my last post, I am so sorry. I need to get back to blogging, I really miss it. It has been a busy year, with lots going on in our Family, some really great news, some not so great, but thats life.

I will try to be better in 2011 at blogging. Facebook has taken up alot of my time, but not everybody has a Facebook account, and Facebook doesn't allow me to be creative either.

Stay tuned for coming attractions in the Elledge Family. See you soon!
