Post Thanksgiving Shopping

Mason & I left the house @ 5:30 a.m. this morning to go to Michael's & JoAnns after Thanksgiving sales, I made it to Walmart @ 7:00 a.m., but all the good stuff was gone. Thats okay, what I was after today was at JoAnn's & Michael's, and I got everything I was after. We got home @ 9:30 a.m., and took a 3 hour nap, it was so good, it was cold & rainy, and we both fell asleep right away. We got up & I made the third wreath & put together the little pre-lit trees for the front door, and Mason made a little gingerbread house made out of foam. Too cute.

My Thanksgiving Pies

I came home from work Wednesday and made my pies for Thanksgiving, a pumpkin & pecan. They came out so good. I embellish them with oak & maple leaves out of pie dough. I was going to float tiny prebaked pumpkins out of pie dough on the pumpkin pie, (I put them on after the pie is baked), but I burned them. Click on the image to view.

Wreath Making 101

I had my creative juices flowing in the last few days, and in the last 20 hours, I have made 3 wreaths. One for the front door, one for Vernons Moms grave, and one for Davids grave (to send back home to my Mom). I bought most of the stuff last year, but added a few embellishments from my favorite craft stores, Hobby Lobby & Michael's. I also bought a pair of prelit trees for the front door, in weighted pedistal bases. They are so cute.

International Motorcycle Show in Dallas

We went to the International Motorcycle Show in Dallas last weekend. We saw hundreds of beautiful bikes, and custom paint jobs. This is Vernons most achievable dream bike, a Honda ST 1300. He eats & breathes motorcycles.

I sat on this bike, it felt really good, and I could probably ride this size - a 750, more my speed. If I was 20 years younger and alot skinnier, maybe I would have one, however for right now, I am just as happy as a clam being a passenger on the back of Vernons bike. That is for now!

There were alot of really beautiful bikes, with custom paint jobs, I have attached some pictures of some of the gas tanks & rear fenders, such beautiful masterpieces. Click on any of the pictures to see them up close, you may have to scroll down to see the full picture.

The Race Is On!

I have been shopping for Christmas over the past month (hit & miss) or so, and today Joy and I wen this earlyt Christmas shopping all afternoon. I came home and started wrapping gifts after dinner, and then went to Walmart at 10:30 tonight and got some more. I have a few people finished, and I think this is the first time ever that I have some wrapping done this early. Every year I have the same goal to start earlier and not have so much to do at the end, and be able to enjoy the holidays. I have never been able to do it before - could it be this year????? I'll let you know on December 24th! Ha Ha

Our Little Darlin's

David & Mason spent this past weekend with us. We had the best time, and they were so good. Mason was so excited that his Papa took him fishing on Sunday. Although he didn't catch anything, he had a good time with his Papa!

Joy's 16th Birthday

Joy had her 16th birthday on October 22, 2008. Her "Sweet 16" party was on the Friday night before her actual B-Day! Here is a picture with some of her friends, Morgan, Daniel, Jimmy, Amber & Alaina. They had a patio party at the house ending with a girls night sleepover, and all had a great time hanging out together. It was a great night!
