A Beautiful Easter from Heaven Above!

We has a beautiful day today thanks to the Heavens. For the past 4 or 5 days, we have lived with the threat of terrible storms and heavy rain for Easter day. We had planned an Easter egg hunt for the kids, and would have been no big deal to move it inside. We went to church this morning and the rain was finishing up, and was overcast but a nice afternoon. We had our egg hunt outside, and the boys were so cute. We missed Noah & Eden today. We hope all of our loved family & friends had a beautiful day, giving glory to God on this Easter Day.

Here are some pictures from today of Mason & David hunting for eggs.

Easter is for Family

We got to spend Easter with some of our Elledge Family members. We missed Leslie, B. B., Andrea & Eden. Of course, I miss my Pennsylvania family dearly, and hope they had a beautiful day as well. Upon posting these pictures, I realized that I did not get pictures of everybody that was at Easter today. Sorry for that. Here are some of our family.

Last Weekend at the Races

We had a great time last weekend at the races as usual. Saturday was really warm and humid, was almost 80 degrees, but on Sunday we froze outside the track and were comfortable inside the track surprisingly. We had gale force winds all weekend, and on Sunday, the high was 54 degrees with a 40 mph wind.

Jeff Gordon led & won a great race, and there were no bad wrecks either, fortunately. Jr. (my guy) started 20th & finished 20th, Kevin Harvick (Vernons guy) didn't do well all day either.

We had to have our tailgate party inside the car because of the wind, dust and cold. We had the sun shades up to take a nap before the race, see our spread on the dash board.

Happy Birthday Dad!

My wonderful Dad had a birthday today. He turned 72 this year. Mom was taking him to dinner tonight. Happy Birthday to my greatest Hero! I love you Dad!
I sent him some home made raisin filled cookies, among some other things. What do you get the man who has everything, which has been my dilema for about 20 years. I haven't made these particilar cookies in over 15 years, they tasted just like the cookies the Rural Valley Bakery made (which they don't make anymore due to new ownership). I made them over the weekend and what a giant flop. I made 2 cookie sheets of them before I put them in the oven. My largest cookie cutter was taking forever, so I started making them with a small bowl as the cookie cutter. Of couse, when I put them in the oven, the small ones spread together all over the pan into a 10" x 15" mess. The ones I made with the small bowl, came out to be the size of a hub cap. I packaged up the only small ones that were salvagable, which was 3, and one of the hub caps, and sent them off in the mail. What a mess. The ones I didn't mail, I threw straight in the trash as I was so aggravated, I didn't even want to see them.
This picture is from last summer when we were home for a visit.

My First Darlin'

I am missing my darlins, I haven't seen them in a month, I can't believe it. David is walking now & last weekend, Vernon talked to Gretchen and he could hear David whining & crying in the background, and she said he was mad because she taped the trash can lid closed so he couldn't get into it anymore for the 9,000th time. Since he is walking he is into everything now. I think this is part of that pay back thing, notice I said part!

This is a picture of Mason and I the last time he was here.

Beautiful Church Stained Glass

I went to a wedding to this past weekend for Ben & Emily E. The Church in Diana, Texas, had a beautiful stained glass window of Jesus. Enjoy!
